Now that you worded it this way i wonder why korean authors are so obsessed with these kind of ideas and make a happy ending where the woman ends with the man who manipulated her. I wont even call this dark romance when nothing is even dark about this, its just romanticizing abuse and making the victim suffer more. There are other dark romance i read and none of them have these kind of setting, others have a unique way of really telling you its dark so dont hope its gonna end happy. Everything about this manhwa is just manipulation 100%

I don't side with this but i understand the ml side, he come from a lovless marriage what is common in that time of age, he manipulated by his father early on, he lost his mother, and he fell for the fl, he don't know how to show it, because he never experienced it, yes he is mentaly unstable just like the fl. He never tortured or raised hand on the fl he is simply addicted. He is not psychopath he know what love is like he love his staff, his former nanny, eugene ect. He took a knife for her without regret, he is little bit messed up in the head but thats fine he willing to change and thats what metters.
