Right?! Because we all know that he’s gonna keep treating him like an outsider if the MC wasn’t the painter, rude ass brat. Like in the novel he changed how he treats him when he found out, like bam he’s taking care of him and making sure he’s eating etc. and then they got intimate really fast. The sudden change and the catalyst, makes it less genuine imo. I know he’s gonna be good to him but I’m just salty at how he became like that right AFTER finding out he made the painting ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
