I wanna think that their family are actually alive.
This is just a theory. I read the novel but the website hadn’t finish translating them so I stop reading not so far from these recent chapters.
And even after reading this part on the novel, all they explaining was “the blood is splattered everywhere in the house.” Means, no dead body, no trace of human left, and also no single piece of meat left.
So this is what I want to believe… First, its been known there are 3 family of the group’s members in this apartment complex. Baseball guy’s family is the only bloody-scene one while the other two houses are clean. Second, the fact that the apartment front door have been barricaded. With this 2 informations, I thought there is a chance that they are alive. How? Firstly, imo, after they barred the front door and being safe for a while, their next problem is food scarcity. The solution will be to migrate as in leaving the complex. After that, there is a chance that a completely new group come to the complex. Seeing the front door is closed tightly, they thought it is a safe place, and decided to live there. And that’s when the monster come and killed them all (the new group).
I think this make sense because if the other two families fleeing, I believe they must be with baseball guy’s family too. In my understanding, their family quite close (like childhood friends or something?) so it doesn’t make sense that the two families leaving one behind. Then let’s say, the two only flee after the one get attacked. Even if the monsters eat the whole family to the very last bit of pieces of their bodies, normally inside those pool of blood, they’d be narrations like “this is a ring my mother used to love” or “ah my sibling’s broken phone” or “my father’s eyeglasses on the bedside”. But no, for what I remembered, all they said was “a used knife that seems desperate to survive” and “trace of people trying to go inside some room to hide” and “blood splattered everywhere.” There’s no item, not even one, that can be labelled as “the family’s personal little item.”
So yeah, from deep down inside my heart, I wholeheartedly want to believe my theory is right ╥﹏╥
