It hasn't been fully revealed yet why Brett sought out Hayden again after ending their relationship two years ago. Everything indicates that Brett, despite being quite inept with his own emotions, seems to have realized he was happy with Hayden and regretted the breakup. However, Hayden doesn't want to get back because Brett's way of showing affection is quite distorted.
