This manga, Chew and Swallow, and Love History Caused by Willful Negligence does toxic ML right. Love History's ML is clinically fucked in the head, not just an asshole. This guy is a powerful man of influence, not a good guy in general. So it doesn't surprise me that he approaches love the same way he approaches his daily life, being in control. Being underhanded. I'm enjoying this.
The guy in Jinx is comically rude, I could never take him seriously. The ML in Love History does some of the worst shit ever but I like his character for the self awareness and the author avoiding the "redemption" trope. You can reveal why the character is like that, it's up to the MC to accept or reject that. It's also important that the text itself doesn't treat the romance as a healthy or good one after the fact. I'm hopeful this comic follows suit.
I can't express how much I agree with you! (Seriously, I can't, my English is not that good lol). If I remember correctly, the ML from Love History had some mental issues that prevented him from understanding others' feelings and stuff... I couldn't keep going cause that's not my cup of tea, and the uke was so passive, like Kim Dan. Maybe I'll go back to that story now that it's finished?
On the other hand, to be honest, I'm a hopeless romantic, so I wish that they get a happy ending or something, even though it doesn't make sense for them to end up together
╥﹏╥
This reminds me of ''To take an enemy's heart'' Their love for each other and their relationship didn't make any sense, but oh boy! I enjoyed every corny cliche very much lol
I felt that way for a while about the uke from Willful Negligence but there was a self awareness to him as well. He felt guilty for liking the man his best friend liked. Does he still like him because he feels guilty about his friend being dead? What does that say about him still liking this man knowing how unpleasant he is? And he straight up believes he's an awful person. It's honestly refreshing to see such honesty from a character who loves a piece of shit.
Willful Negligence shines because of the awful ML. If people can handle an intentionally toxic romance, I highly recommend completing it.

I still can't hate him. He knows his faults. Man is self aware of his selfishness. It's going to be fun watching Yeonjo get his licks in.
But it's going to require an external force for them to get back together now. I don't see them repairing anything with just the two of them.
