oof you're right. hahaha the way they're portrayed in promos or socmed was they're already happy and in a healthy relationship (which i guess will happen at the end lol) but damn the expectation of readers and what's actually happening at the start made others feel like it's off.
Things would be better if we built up the reveal that ML screwed MC over with pheromones. IMO this series has the vibe that it’s going to be short (<50 chapters) but regardless, if author stayed in line with the promo and lured us into thinking ML & MC are super sweet & happy, it would have made the reveal & MC’s assholeishness to the ML much less controversial. Like in other manhwa w “groveling arc”s — this is technically ML’s, it’s just so unsatisfying because we’re <10 chapters in.
It doesn’t feel great reading this now because it’s not like we’ve earned it, going so early into punishment—kind of a less hardcore version of Reverse Thinking, where we also know MC “deserves” his abuse from ML yet we don’t feel it given the abuse jumps straight in.
