Park cheongman (that seedy old mf) was the diddy of the k-acting world, and he pimped off young and aspiring female actresses. Im ah-yeon was one of the actresses who was getting pimped out (she was coerced into "choosing" this route). Atp mc (who sees ah-yeon as a mentor figure ) puts two and two together and rushes to make sure ah-yeon is alright and that's when he encounters her and realizes the amount of terrible shit she had to put up with just to keep acting, and he realizes park diddy also installed a spy cam in the room ah-yeon was assaulted in to blackmail the people who were abusing her. He takes it and cheongman, seeing this, immediately twists the narrative into the mc being the assaulter. The rest is as you know
Thank you! (=・ω・=)! But what i meant by what happened 7 years ago was when seme said something along the lines of "but this already started 7 years ago" implying that the uke and him may have had a connection or something before and the uke completely forgot about it. I thought there was also some explanation as to how the seme came to want to help him? Coz he seemed very interested in him even tho he was cold towards otherpeople. I think i remember the seme saying that helping the uke would repay his debt to him. I was just thinking what he meant by repaying a "debt" coz i feel like we're skipping a few things there but maybe i just have bad reading comprehension or i completely missed the backstory as i scroll too fast when reading, but i was just curious about that part
Ohh gotchu. This is what i understood:
So we know that the ml's impeccable lack of personal emotion in his acting was actually him being traumatized into locking away his emotions (bc his parents were basically sociopathic people) after realizing he was never going to receive love, affection or care in his childhood, right? This incongruency would have been deeply felt by him when he got into acting (he says that his manager was the one who got him hooked on mc's passion for acting, so he was either entering the acting scene or already established at that point).
Mc was the scriptwriter and protag of that "Liar's Love" play, where he tells his costar that the lies end up becoming the truth if you believe in it hard enough (or sumn like that), and that would have been like a piece of driftwood for the ml bc that was in essence the closest thing to acceptance that he could hope to achieve. His acting was all a facade. He could never hope to understand these emotions he could act out so well, after all.
So mc becomes an incomparable existence whose very presence was affirming ml's existence in a way, and ml feels indebted to him for probably giving him the will to continue or whatever.

So what happened 7 years ago?
