I thought the manhwa was just skipping stuff but they are still extracting the hunters mana?? They are changing the MC's motivations for no reason apparently lol

He just saved the kid with his own mana.
Sorry, Its more about the changes of the manhwa and the original novel.
In the novel he didn't use his own mana to save the kid.
He used the hunters Life force/span to save/extend the kid life. The hunters stress and despair was written in a more satisfying way that make you question who the real villain is.
The manhwa version is confusing cause Why save the kid with his own "Mana" while extracting the hunters "mana" anyway?? Its makes him more like a hero (of justice) with a good personality.

Seems like it. Manhwa version said saving the kid with hunter's mana made the him feel indebted toward hunter. A way of censoring I suppose. They changed a whole lot of this story overall and try to make the vibe lighter without a complete deviation.
Im not sure if they made some changes from the novel. I Remember that mc wanted to extract the hunters lifeforce/rank to save that kid's life, that was their punishment. And the mandrakes cave scene was more wholesome in the novel. I think they went speedrun or my memory sucks
