They are both so stupid, I liked this before the blond asshole appeared, we didn't need this to mature the uke at all, just needed to do some actual writing. It was clear in the beginning that uke's arc was to become more independent and less naive, and seme's arc was to get over ex trauma and stop being an asshole.
Why does the seme keep entertaining this blond asshole? Why does the uke keep talking normally to the guy who tried to get him gang graped?
It's not that the characters need to be perfect, but if you compare this to "can't think straight" it was pretty annoying at first, but there both main characters are very well developed with humor in between.
Knowing that yaoi is often a foil for straight relationships as the authors often are women who are tired of the tropes in shoujo manga, it's pretty insulting to see women (uke's) being depicted this dumb and naive. And also story's like this are very similar to bad shoujo.
