Maybe he was looking for ailette bc he somehow couldnt find her (with the exception of the 17th round) and ended up being trapped there. Maybe it scrambled his memories or something which is why both him from the floppy disk dungeon and him from the 17th regression (the first time we see him after the separation) didnt recognize her. Not so sure why hed want to destroy the disk though
