considering the premise this manga is written on and how it start, i would say that the author did an amazing job in fleshing out their characters. no unnecessary conflicts, fillers, or arcs that drag it more than necessary.
the story mainly focuses on the inevitable struggles of the human heart and mind, the maturity and self-improvement that come with age and time, and the idea that while we cannot control our feelings, we can ALWAYS choose how we act, making conscious decisions to do what is right despite them.
the male lead is fully aware that his feelings for his sister are strange and inappropriate and he does not excuse them or pretend they are acceptable. instead, he consciously keeps his distance and chooses restraint to make sure his actions remain respectful and protective of her well-being. likewise, the female lead knows her love will never be reciprocated, yet she still chooses to care for both of them with kindness even when jealousy and darker impulses surface as she witnesses the male lead’s devotion for his sister. she repeatedly refuses to act on them, choosing compassion and moral clarity over resentment.
DAYUM, the writer cooked so hard with this one honestly
