I really love how this manga didn't treat reiko's role of being essentially a caretaker to a dementia patient since she was a child as something trivial.
Dementia is an awful condition that can render someone to be cruel—and with mary's previous personality, it only serves to worsen her character. Caring for someone like that is a draining and demanding job for a child like Reiko, especially in an isolated place in the countryside with no children her age around as a friend. I'm not even surprised if she's left with a traumatic childhood or a lasting impact on her growth
Despite it all, she still turned out to be kind and persevered. Her constant long monologues tendency seems to be a coping mechanism to ignore her stressful and lonely situation. She even acknowledged it herself. I wish the manga would further shed more light about her condition.
It's truly frustrating that the people around her continue to judge and discriminated against reiko. It hurts that the "heroine" also turned out to be biased—but ig it proves that the "heroine" is just a person, nothing saint-like. It'd be nice if we could have a chapter how other characters view her, so we'll get a sense of how reiko is perceived.
Also, this manga's approach to an isekai otome is quite funny and unique. I like that they treated yuria's rambling as a self-made delusion lol. Wish they'd keep it as that
