exactly, not to mention his comment abt how he’ll “set him free” if sooyoung goes back to becoming dependent on jihwan again because he knows that if that time were to ever come, sooyoung won’t want to leave him anymore. sooyoung realizes this as well i think, that’s why he feels hopeless because then there’s no real escape for him.
I have a lot empathy for the mc...he actually tried to escape as much as he can from Jihwan TWICE!! but he is dealing with a motherf*cker pro max. This man always find his way like a plaque and hes smart as hell , he knew Sooyoung will behave if he takes care of his mother
