It’s mainly because it undermines the novels themes of mutual healing and salvation (which is central and more sensitively portrayed in the novel,) and not to mention the non consensual scene with the antagonist and the mc, that goes on for 2 whole chapters btw, and from reading the raw’s they hardly touch on the psychological trauma and the impact the act should have had on the mc??
It felt like a plot device just to heighten the drama/antagonism rather than a serious event with lasting emotional weight.

First of why r people hating on this cuz first off it’s an adaptation of course it’s gonna have changes and if you don’t like them move the fuck on ur whining ain’t gonna change anything and second why is the story so sad like damn that cliffhanger
