I think Miki has a thing for the Yakuza rather than his wife
just listen to the way he talks about her in the home store, calling her stupid, a deceived woman. he talks as if she's a nuisance, like he's upset she couldn't see what kind of man he is
it's entirely possible that his relationship with her was only a means to provoke her husband, the subsequent abuse from him being something Miki reveled in. he is someone that thrives on conflict, after all
Tatsumi was for Miki, what Miki was for Tatsumi, and they both got infatuated along the way. i don't think Miki was ever serious about the murder plot, he just liked knowing he had Tatsumi around his finger. he probably needed that kind of reassurance
