It was implied throughout the story but yeah it is weird, but I guess it just makes him a more easily brainwashed character since he's easily swayed by emotion

The characters have the appropriate reaction when they learn about it, sooo even though they use that trope, they don't romantisize or glorify it

Hey girl just wanna say don’t let these people gaslight you I ALSO didn’t even consider Derrick being romantically interested in Penelope. Now that it’s revealed, it makes perfect sense why she hated him so bad when he caught her while she ran away- finally knowing what the colors meant. But before that? No clue, and was honestly confused why he was lowkey hated the most

IT IS OK but if @KylaloveyoaiKyla13 didn’t want to get flagged in the comments section then they should’nt have used the phrase “ I love this manga, but keep that weird shit to yourself and all the other fantasies you have.” Derrick - while an annoying and disgusting character - is still a well written character. And the writer didn’t romanticize Derrick’s feelings for Penelope on purpose. Good writing is sometimes going to make you uncomfortable. The only reason people are coming after @KylaloveyoaiKyla13 is because they went after the writers writing. No one appreciates that.

But I just didn’t like That they decided to make Derek have feelings for Penelope… it’s just my personal preference so I was expressing that. If you don’t like it as a previously stated, suck my ass or take a long walk off a short cliff!
