This take completely ignores the actual context of the story. The MC wasn’t a grown man “refusing to stand up”, he was a severely traumatized child who grew up under an openly homophobic, abusive father. He was beaten, controlled, and conditioned to be afraid for years. That kind of fear doesn’t just disappear because you “should” speak up.
When the confrontation happened, the ML himself understood why the MC couldn’t speak, and we see that in the chapters too. He knew how dangerous the situation was. Expecting a abused teenager to suddenly defy his abuser is not strength, it’s a fantasy.
As for “having the audacity to be mad”,the MC isn’t angry that the ML moved on. He’s dealing with guilt, trauma, grief, and unresolved feelings after a forced breakup caused by abuse, a car accident, and his father’s death. Those emotions aren’t entitlement; they’re human.
Reducing all of that to “he didn’t stand up so he sucks” is just a lack of empathy and basic understanding of how abuse and trauma actually work.

Yeah i hate the mc for not standing up to his father and not even defending the ml ? And bro thinks after all these years that he has the right to be mad and hate the ml for moving on????? THE AUDACITY
