The MC is far stronger than the ML. He's a badass
The main character is easily the strongest character in the series, on top of him being immortal.

I went to read a bit of the novel. And as I expected, the ML is mentally ahead of the MC at every turn. Got excited for nothing.
How far have you read? I have read all the available chapters, and I don't remember there is an inbalance in their relationship. Taehee does hide things from Jaegyeom, but he absolutely does not have an upperhand in their relationship, nor had he ever been able to always successfully guess Jaegyeom next move. Jaegyeom often throws a wrench in Taehee's way, and Taehee being the one to fall first, is basically a pathetic yearner when it comes to Jaegyeom, so much so that he would rather throw away his decade long plan because he doesn't want Jaegyeom to die. Also, if we are talking about power, Taehee would have died multiple times without Jaegyeom. Taehee isn't omnipotent nor is he the infallable ten step ahead manipulator. He is absolutely clumsy when it comes to dealing with Jaegyeom.
Honestly, I have seen a lot of story with inbalance power dynamic, and this is not one of them. This isn't about the love interest manipulating the innocent main character to fall for him type of story.
This is interesting so far. I hope it doesn't go "the ML must always be ahead/more op/superior to the MC", like most typical BLs do. If it does like they were hinting at at first, I'll be really disappointed.
