idk if its js me. but in east asia and parts of southeast asia, homophobia is fuckin rampantttt. either straight up, or in a passive aggressive way. i know in western countries it’s more open, but this manhwa lowk reminding me of what it was like in the west back in 2010-2015. bein queer was blatantly hated against. even where i grew up in my home country, it was so easy to throw the f-slur and have no one bat an eye.

idk. it’s kinda eye-opening to see a new manhwa show the homophobia so. aggressively. especially considering we in the big 26

I remember slurs and homophobia definitely being a lot more prevalent back in the day. I don't think I really lived through the extremes but do remember it being a thing. Like politically there was gay marriage which was a thing for a couple years and how big deal broke back mountain was lol. The start of Queer media and representation in the public. I think I definitely grew up right in the middle of these times and I honestly sometimes forget how crazy shit was back then.

I think it's kinda cool that manhwas are bringing this theme back, it def makes the characters more dimensional. This is a major theme in Pearl Boy 2 too and it has a choke hold on me.

That behavior is very normal in Latin American countries too, even in Spain, some countries are pass that but not others , they still live in the 1900.
