you have misunderstood her character. she isn't evil at all. She is kind and truly care for others, still she has the confidence to stand up for herself and her friends if needed. But confidence doesn't make her evil...
I don't think evil was the right word choice, but moreso smart--like more backtalk, sassy, spicy, fiesty, etc., whatever you want to call it.
That is, if I am remembering this story correctly.
I do wish she were as evil as she is with others with him. I don't know, I just think that'll be something enjoyable to watch. Like their banter.
Still a good story overall, though, it's been in my top 10 at most for a while.
