Because author have no clue what to do with this story, he will milk it until mc and Mona confess to each other and the manga will end with that.
You are right we all were happy she got rejected and we were sure it's time for Mona to be front and center of the story once again, but it's obvious it's not gonna happen after last chapter.
There is no way in hell Mona isn't the endgame of this manga, we all know it, so I don't understand why we have to see her rivals front and center almost every chapter, I could understand focussing on them to end their arc and I would be fine with that, so I was happy with him rejecting her, because I was sure it's over, but nope it's not, far from it.
Now I'm sure Tomo will also change her mind soon enough, and will try to win him over once again.
I swear the only good thing about this story is Mona and side characters, her rivals and ml are so fking bad it's insane.
