I feel like a lot of people are missing the point when Miyano says he isn't an uke. We see throughout the series that Miyano constantly rejects the idea of being put into a BL-esque situation because those are just silly stories that he enjoys and not something he particularly wishes would happen to him. The same idea applies here. He's not saying he doesn't want to bottom, but rather that he is his own person and not simply a character assigned to a role like an uke in the BL books he reads.
