On an unrelated note, when characters of the same sex show a deep emotional bond, people think they are romantic partners. I think that a big aspect of romantic love, aside from the sexual intimacy, is platonic love. It just shows how precious their bond is. Cuz to most people, it's like the level of platonic love that's special only to them. Or they're just horni that they also imagine them having say gex too.
