I'm not a fan of this series in general, as such 'love triangles' are hella stressful for me, especially when till the end it's only back and forward, but I think people are mostly hating Ian's indecision in all of that... It's true that Doyak kinda dragged the story, but it's exactly the author's choice to outline Ian's train of thought, good or bad, depending on which fandom she wants to please, but in general, I agree with what you said
no, doyak wrote the story beautifully. you dint write a story involving gang like you write a story with normal life setting. she isn't pleasingnanybody, she already finished the main concept and storyline before she even started to design the characters. she has always been consistent in telling the stories. them being baack and forward shows that ian is struggling to choose the love of his life for 20 years and the life he really wanted, away from the gang. tje story is humanly complex and in reality, making decisions like this isnt as easy as we thought it would. the whols timeline of the story is probably around 4 to 6 months so the pacing is actually perfect, i disagree with her dragging the story out cuz its more than just a love story. she gve tj and ian relationship depth and meaningful, while gave jo and ian relationship lights and hope. shes a great writer
Well, if, like you said, Doyak had a storyline planned since the beginning with a maybe good ending (which is not so obvious in some aspects of the plot), hopefully there will be a good resolution at the end, giving hope and showing that this series had a purpose, and not being just one another, where the whole story was just to give angst and no progress in the situation and characters development by the end. Because this is what a good story in general should be for, to give a message, so let's hope that we will se anything like that here, and that there will be no changes in the original (hopefully good) plan because of a kinda crazy fandom at the moment
at the end of the day, its ian's choice. if he thinks leaving with jo is right for him he will choose jo but if he thinks he's gonna give his relationship with another chance and felt thats right with him, he will choose tj
hes a 35 who survived the streets, not a stupid 20 something years old man. he dont need saving or people telling him whats the right choice for him. he's capable of making his own decisions, bad or good. so whoever the endgame is, its his choice. i love him so much, i just wat him to be happy with whoever he choose.
