I think he doesn' t beleve to escape from the council additionaly He Hasn't had the power of the Dragon to begin with.
He already d word. And he cant escape from them since they made him addict to the black poiton
Why he helped MC before must be because he also aware the danger of the king's heart. He can't escape from it himself, so he tried at least make his son not be like him.
I don't understand, is the previous king not against the council ? I though he hated them, why is he siding with them now ? Or why did he help our ML back then ?
