i dont really read a lot of GL even though im a lesbian, mostly bc i find it hard to find recommendations that suit my tastes (a lot of series that are sent my way are often about highschoolers and i just find it hard to get into). but honestly, reading this was a breath of fresh air bc of how relatable it feels. i hope one day i too as a chubby lesbian can find a beautiful caring girlfriend like nomoto-san who loves to cook lol (▰˘◡˘▰)

woman married to another woman pitching in! i read both, but i tend to read more BL than GL because

    A) there are simply more BLs than GLs out there to consume

    B) in general i can also project my attraction onto them, as they’re also same-sex relationships [excluding those where straight women authors just make them Straight Lite -_-]. it helps that most BLs have characters with no facial hair

    C) there are a lot of GLs w/ art styles where the women look prepubescent, or their eyes take up half their head, or the proportions are so comical that i can’t even see the characters as women anyway / the things i am attracted to in irl women is not shown in them :/ + my partner and i are both not super femme, and most GLs ultra-femme-ify the main leads, which i can’t relate to

    D) more BLs than GLs have stories with themes i am personally interested in, especially when it comes to more explicit topics
