Totally agree, 20 years of no progression and what, they expect a quick redemption now? Their relationship is just so toxic, for both of them... I hope for Ian's new beginning, he deserves to achieve what he always wanted, not being stucked with his abuser again
Right, a relationship as fucked up as theirs cannot get any better and even if some proper and mature apologies and communication happened (it won’t) they would still need to PART for Ian to stay sane because there sure is nothing to save !!!

Definitely, and to be honest, if Doyak's purpose from the beginning was to keep them together, this series makes no sense because there is no development, no change, no meaning in any of that... it's like going back to the misery again! At this point, after all these years of suffering, it's not even love, it's just an attachment, and there is nothing to save...
If they end up together it’ll objectively be qualified as a sad and toxic ending. There’s not enough time left in the story right one to absolve of everything that happened and to build a new happy or slightly fulfilling relationship between them, only the cycle of abuse and misery will remain.
Of course, we would need to get the whole redemption part, and there is clearly no time for that, so if that whole series was just to go back to the beginning, that will be extremely disappointing!
Is this sudden edgy bs supposed to be TJ’s redemption and chasing arc ? After 20 years it’s just so dull, especially when it’s still laced in untold lies and lack of apologies. Like let’s move onnnn, their wannabe complex sex infused trauma bond isn’t even moving anymore. It’s time to choose between a new beginning, the peace he seeks and safety or his abuser and good old guilt tripping pure misery he’s known for two decades.
