The scene you're talking about - yes, it's brutal - is also when Lee Won figures out that Caesar doesn't know how to show emotion, including affection, without violence. Lee Won even says it. Please do not take this as me defending his actions. There is one scene I find more brutal than this - when they fight about Lee Won's past relationships - and I really don't like that one. My 1st time reading this (it was still coming out, which is probably why I missed it), I missed how much Caesar trembled from being nervous when talking with Lee Won. He's not a green flag (though I don't think Lee Won is one either - he's got some pretty twisted thoughts), by any means... but I still think they're a great pair.
