The people desperately want that all of the characters turn into green flags, but the purpose of this work was to be toxic and imperfect. The autor never forced anyone to read, but what I see the most are these kind of comments in works that deliver exactly what they promised since the begging of the story. I actually expected them to be the end game, I mean they are the ones in cover. That being said I don't understand this people who's so dead set on the mc being with the second male lead when the cover said it all. Description alone hinted the readers that this will be one of those toxic and sick kind of story so why do I feel like most readers want the opposite? I honestly don't get it. This kind of thing always happens. Some of the readers always expect the red and black flag characters to just turn green.
I think ml here is written beautifully. He was a cruel cold-hearted emperor, he's not that cruel to the mc anymore but he still kept his attitude of not being able to feel guilt nor does he suddenly remember killing the mother of mc and feeling guilt all of a sudden. The author did a great job of not putting another cliché scene where it was not him who killed the mother of mc. The author stick to fact that ml is a monster who can't remember anyone he killed. I also liked the fact that the ml was very honest about not feeling any guilt towards the ones he killed but feel the weight of what he made the mc felt for losing someone important. He also was trying so hard to appease the mc by trying to learn guilt, even asking the mc to teach him to feel.
Now to those who judged the mc for being a total pushover who can't resist lust and love. If he really don't like the second ml then I don't think they should end up together. I mean he tried, didn't he? He tried his best to love raonjildo but he can't for some reason. If a man you love and a man you like but not love did his best to pursue you, no matter what he did you will not be able to choose him without hurting him. So I think the mc did a great job of choosing the ml; the man he love and hate, hurting himself in the process rather than hurting a man who did nothing but love and support him just because the mc can't face his own guilt.
Also this is the author's story, the author's imagination, creation and the author forced no one to read their work so I hope everyone would just drop the manhwa if it's too much for them rather than bashing and judging the author and the manhwa. That's all happy reading everyone.
