exactlyyy, she is very manipulative in her actions for her goal (which is understandable) but the story is showing it as if it was out of goodwill, with naivety and cuteness when it’s weird as fuck from another pov
From another pov, i’ll wonder if she’s using some evil magic to hypnotize the duke and make him fall asleep
When she died she was a kid too, she wasn’t an adult so I guess it’s normal for kids to make mistakes
