That was my first thought too but we actually saw prince's parents so I'm thinking grandmother since in the beginning the reason the prince is looking for a partner so early is to carry the burden of the imperial family's power. Or it could be an aunt tbh the prince's father got skipped in being crowned prince so the one that inherited the most of the imperial family's power could be that mysterious lady, which could be a possible relative.
I'm leaning towards the 2nd theory. Cause you know she doesn't look that old. （￣へ￣）

I think i read something that mentioned the first lady that became a queen instead of a king so it must be her and she's being controlled by that dark power. She must've been consumed by the imperial family power. She must be great-great aunt or something of the prince
