dohu using him is part of it now he's afraid that if they get back together the resentment from the betrayal will linger in their relationship and the other part of it is because he wants to be emancipated from his adoptive family and they're messy and have threatened to use dohu against him and he doesn't want to bring dohu into that mess or get him involved in it
i think he initially ran away to escape his family (hence why he dyed his hair and avoided the agent who was scouting him) but then decided to fight against them and not hide anymore (which is why he became an actor and filed for emancipation) and take them down(?). and he probably had to ghost dohu because his family knows they're connected and threatened to hurt dohu before juheon left
