Need Opinion Regarding Bara

Mew August 21, 2017 2:08 pm

So, I'm okay with reading Bara, I'm not sure if other girls do tho.
What I want help with is, put this as a situation, if you see a LIVE bara in front of your eyes, what would be your 'turn off' moment that cuts off your fujoshi side and killed it. Oh, the situation is for those who likes Bara because if you dont like bara, seeing it live doesnt make much different...

What on earth is a live bara? Do you mean live action gay porn or just seeing a muscular man in real life?? I'm not turned off by either of those things.

*slowblink. um there really is no "live bara" tho unless you are talking about bear type men? but not all bara have bears. they mostly look normal. also, bara a term coined by the japanese so there really isn't a "bara" category or smth in gay porn...

(tbh, if you convert a yaoi into live action i see them as a pair of twinks having a go at it ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ )

and oh, it doesn't matter to me. hand-drawn yaoi porn and live action gay porn are both the same to me.

Some of you guys need imagination. I'm trying to write a comedy story. Bara doesn't exist in terms of real life but following the definition by the Japanese about Bara is muscular men. So isn't two muscular men in real life would be considered Bara. So yeah, I'm just trying to write light hearted novel about fujoshi and her filtered eyes with brains that uses yaoi terms. So excuse me for confusing any of you guys. Just trying to make the experience more realistic but hey, fiction will stay fiction....

Bara often includes muscular men but bara is not defined as muscular men. Bara is a genre typically created by men for men. As opposed to yaoi which is typically created by women for women. A yaoi can have muscular men but would still be yaoi and a bara could lack muscular men but would still be bara.

I think bara is a term that should be left out of the story. Bara does not appeal to most fujoshi and it is not a "yaoi term". Good luck with your story though

yaoi and bara is like shoujo and shounen in a sense... they have a different demography even if they both promote gay pairings.
    so muscular =/= bara.
if you wanted help with yaoi terms i can offer my help just so i explain to you the proper and more clear definitions of fujoshi-speak.
