I was having the same thought. Since the reason behind the curse is that she refused his feelings, it wouldn’t make sense for the curse to be about her finding true love. Instead, the man should want her to suffer what he suffered. So he should want her to fall in love, and then find that love to be impossible.
I think she has to get her heartbroken by Lenok for the curse to finally be lifted. Since it is a layered curse of love it can also low-key be about hate because the line of love and hate is very thin. The emo dude that cursed her probably wanted her to fall in love and then get heart broken
