Intrinsically? Yes. The marriage wasn't of their own free will; it was a deal the duke only agreed to for the good of his people and country. And Shuraka seems to be the one benefiting most from it. But at the very least, it would be good if Shuraka seemed to empathize with his wife's situation, having to leave everything behind (after being deceived by him and kicked back home) and go back to his kingdom.
What's disturbing is that he seems happy throughout the entire process.
oh my friend lemme introduce i to bidai. a very traditional aspect of Indian weddings, very common in south east asia and middle East I'm assuming. as sad as this is. it's a custom. so rather than him not being empathetic towards Their I think he doesn't understand why it's sad. u know him being on edge since he was a literal child, that does wonders to a person. and if Tei married a woman that woman would have to leave everything and come live w Tei. it's a very sad situation man.
and no I'm not putting his fight or flight as a excuse, ofc it broke my heart to read this chapter as well. I'm simply stating that, how would he knows his pain of he's never learnt it was painful. maybe the author will enlighten him in the future in that regard. Also Tei's county has benefited ALOT from this marriage. it was stated so somewhere in the marrage agreements. but ofc Tei is the real prize so indeed Shuraka has benefited the most.
know he's in pain if he's never* girl my keyboard isn't very font of me at times
oh and not saying Tei is an object for his possession by calling him a prize. I'd like to point out that Shuraka literally has no family to take care of him while growing up
even his cousin who helps him has his own motives to be doing so. So when Tei came along, genuinely wanting to be there for lil guy and wanting to protect him....so yeah his upbringing was mostly be the strongest and sharpest and he also just got out a 4??? year battle. yikes.

I'm angry at Shuraka for making the duke leave his country and then acting all happy. That little smile he gives in this chapter drives me crazy. Whether you love him or not, duke has a lot of self-control, because if it were me, I'd be seething with hatred
