this is amazing, i feel her a lot. I like romance, i love romance but i will never fully grasp the concept of romance and of it ever happening to me. I can’t ever imagine myself to fall in love with people, and me reciprocating it. But at the same time i imagine if i was to actually fall in love or to have a partner for life be it romantic or non-romantic i would want the person to be a woman. That’s why i claim myself as a lesbian aroace, but no matter what i just can’t fall in love with people and properly get a hold of the meaning of romance. I might be on the spectrum, but romance has always been an alien thing for me. Even as far as i can remember, romance had always been something i force myself onto due to my surroundings. If a man was cool, he should be everyone’s crush. If a man was this mysterious handsome guy, everyone should go for him. And for my whole life, it has always been like this.
I cried reading this because i exactly know how it feels to force yourself to coexist with romance. As for now, i’m grateful i was able to get out of that painful cycle of life. A good circle is also important because though i’m able to discover myself, but when i’m surrounded with romance-craze people where being single and not having a boyfriend will genuinely give them draught, that constant pressure of feeling out place will hunt you like a plague. Therefore, i’m just happy that her friend encourages her and able to accept her, while simultaneously holding a friendship where romance and getting together with someone isn’t the only way to live. It just gets me so emotional.
