That’s so true tho. There’s another story I read where I ended up really liking the second couple and it was due to the dynamic between the characters being really good and one of the characters having a very deep and interesting backstory to the point he has become like my favorite character. And when you look back on the first couple and how their story unfolded, you become lowkey disappointed by how this is the main couple we’re made to focus on instead of the second couple.
It’s kinda sad tho. You can tell they didn’t take much risk with first couple or had a decent idea, enough to make a story about them. But when it came to their side couple, they ended up putting a lot more effort and interest. Or at least that’s what I think.

Personally, I kind of feel sorry for the main couple because it feels like their story wasn't given as much effort as the side couple's. As a result, some people compare them or even end up hating them in their own story. I don't blame people for making comparisons or preferring the second couple, especially if their plot is better, but I just feel bad for the main couple. That's just my personal opinion, though
Damn, I actually like the second couple’s story more than the main one. Not just because of their dynamic, but because their storyline feels heavier, more structured, and overall more enjoyable to read (for me at least)
No offense, but I see this happen a lot,
sometimes authors write much better, more plot-driven stories for the second couple than for the first. It makes me wonder why the first couple was set up as the main one in the first place. The second couple often ends up outshining them (personal opinion)
But I guess that’s just how inspiration works
