you know what? at the beginning i thought that the comments were just being too harsh towards the mc and i keep making excuses for her recklessness in my head like “it’s her first time to actually interact with humans” or “she isn’t human, that’s just how she was raised and the mindset as a mermaid” or even “well at least she did it because she cared about him…?” etc etc. that is, until she JUMPED out of her window. literally the only thing saving her is plot armor lmao. like miss girl you’ve been told again and again not to do something stupid and naive, yet you keep doing exactly the opposite. jumping like that, you’ll be dead even before you could ‘warn’ him. and if by chance you did succeed going into their meeting, what can YOU do? you’ll just make everything worse and harder.
also the fact that she went through all that trouble just to get back with him again in the end is just…. it screams bad writing. it’s like her whole existence was solely for ragebait purposes, and yet i just can’t bring myself to hate her cause her background the same feeling i felt towards rashta from remarried empress.
for the ml, idk but i actually don’t hate him that much. yes he’s a bastard but at the very least he has good reasons for whatever he did. this includes how and why he’s attracted to mel. he got decent writing on his background story and not for some stupid shallow reason like “since i’m bored of my perfect life, i’ll go harass and abuse a random girl then make her my mistress” (yes this is mattrash shade).
