Honestly, so far reading this Manwha was extremely enjoyable and refreshing. It has been so long since I’ve read a Manwha that had me hooked to the point where I actually called out sick from work to continue reading, I was actually getting ready to download webtoon and support the author there myself personally. From the beginning I loved MinWoo personality and liked that he wanted to be human and how he went about doing it. But when author decided to add romance there it became less enjoyable for me. I completely understand that he needed to feel betrayal since it’s also a form of human emotion but there could’ve been a better way to express it ie betrayal of a person you thought you could trust with your life. Romance is very easy to write and carried out regardless if the author / person has any form of experience with it or not. The author should have least have the romance tag there so that readers don’t be surprised when it’s introduced at all. So when the purple haired girl died (I forgot her name) I thought well since he experienced love and betrayal, then he would get even stronger in season 2. However, in season 2 the new love interest is the blonde hair girl (I had actually forgot about her for awhile ), why this approach? I have no idea. So far to me season 2 is not as excited as season 1 is at all. Season 2 seems more weaker than season 1 in terms of action and character dialogue ( so far in my opinion). And then more romance was added (even if it’s fake) so it just feels like unnecessary subplot. Don’t get me wrong I love romance, that is my favorite genre of Manwha of all time but when I’m reading fantasy like this (leveling up etc…), I hate seeing romance included because it’s unnecessary and it feels like it’s the only way the author can get more story to tell (be less creative) especially when it has great world building and the characters have substance and personality.
On that note I will be dropping this Manwha and hopefully find another one that doesn’t have any romance at all. Although it’s not serious at all (this is just my Personal opinion), just wanted to share it.
Hopefully this Manwha gets better with time and the readers can enjoy it till the end.
