I never really understand that approach in the first place. It's like every story has to drop its own quality by being unable to leave the main character without a bitch by his side for more than 5 nanoseconds.
For example, when a good story needs the character to go around places by himself, but that's impossible, because there's no bitch on the screen then, so we have to make sure to add one in for some contrived reason. Even in stories like "The Legendary Hero is an Academy Honors Student", where the MC is 15 and thus, all the "bitches" are around that age, therefore, all of them looking like children, you still need the female companion in absolutely any and all scenarios. At this point, there's not even fanservice there, so what the hell do you need that for? Why are all male characters either enemies or idiots who have barely any screen time? And those who are neither idiots nor enemies (per se) are getting even LESS screen time. No male character, outside the protagonist, will ever get as much screen time on their "awesomness" as any of the female characters get (even the most irrelevant ones).
Just what's the point? Am I not male enough to get it?
I haaaaate stories that have every dude that isn’t the mc be terrible and gross to make him look better. I do like that this one has interesting male characters that aren’t the mc. Except the prince I hate that bitch. But seriously this was one of my all time favorites but now they’re just belatedly making it all harem like. I was even down for him to end up with both the saintess and Karen before because I genuinely liked both of them but now he’s just Pokémon collecting ppl w pussies
I'm going out on a limb here, but I believe nobody really likes the prince.
And yes, it's annoying when nobody can have their "cool" moments, unless they are the MC or female (females get a lot of those moments, no matter how irrelevant they are as a character). And I also really disliked that, because it felt like a serious quality drop here.
For once, really ONCE, I actually LIKED the FL in an action story. That basically NEVER happens. The Saintess was someone I genuinely didn't care about either. But then they kind of changed the tune and imaybe it felt more pronounced BECAUSE the story was so different in that regard. Adding in all the fanservice from random ass characters just felt weirdly unnessecary - even more so than usually.

the demon scans quality is… rough. I wish it wasn’t developing a harem-y way. Even if it ends with only one love interest it really doesn’t add to the story for every woman he meets to both have massive badonkers AND fall in love with him.
