Hahaha yeah, I usually focus on the way the director's speech changes when he's talking to the cutie. Calling him kid or babyface when doting him, belittle him, teasing him or being (weirdly) affectionate, to saying his name so he knows he's being taken seriously or when he wants the mc's full attention on him.
But the art style is so cute when it comes to him hahaha
I guess is for us to really see the difference between that carnivorous man and the inexperience young man.
