she was just a student teacher when he was in high school so i assume she was around 21-23 years old while he was 17-19. he probably went to military so he's still in college so the age gap should'nt be that big even if it was 17 and 23. especially since they're both adults now. she's around 30 so im assuming he's around 24

In my POV after reading it, this is not absolutely wrong either. First, the teacher didn't have feelings for this student when she was teaching him and even didn't think about him before they met again years later. Second, it was literally one sided crush from the student for the teacher. Third, they're dating after both are officially adult. If it's 6 years gap, if teacher is 30 and he is 24. 24 is basically fully grown adult, although he is still in college that's because he was 2 years in military. If the student is 22 and teacher 28,i might not agree with this case. But since he is 24 to start, that's not a big deal. Depends on their age first if we talk about the age gap.
