I agree! While reading it, along the way I found Chisoo to be such a lovable and complex character. I really wanted him to find love too. So I thought, did the bodyguard like him and that’s why he was trying to protect chisoo’s feelings? But then at the end he didn’t even regard chisoo as a human being so I was woah totally misread that. But I wonder if he can give chisoo love cause technically they are both gray characters and idk . I just wanted chisoo to be loved. I was rooting for chisoo to end up with kangjin but also maybe have an open path to the body guard since their share so much history. Chisoo was such an unexpected character to me I found jungkwon to be just annoying. But I understand chisoo not being able to be together with kangjin. This was so painful to read cause of how complex each character was. The author really wrote a great piece.

Maturity is realising that reading this story and understanding it in its true essence is realising the road that everyone in this story travelled. I could write about Kangjin and Jungkwon, but I won't because I feel like many people have already managed to empathise with them in their own way.
This story might have their faces as the thumbnail, but the author really did have a special meaning to convey by writing down a character as complex as Chisoo. A character that is truly truly human, neither white nor black, just gray... A character who probably lived his whole life wanting someone, someone to see him, someone to treat him like a human, a character who despite claiming to be absolutely unforgiving of those who betray him, continued to hold onto Kangjin, and changed a bigger part of himself... I don't know how many did realise this very delicate detail, he's portrayed like the eldest sibling, who would want to take off the word 'responsibility' off of his shoulder, but would harbour it like crazy, who would die to protect the ones he loves, but would be extra cautious to let himself be loved (ofcourse not every eldest sibling),... But that's where the maturity part kicks in, he's not your regular eldest sibling, he's a child who wanted people bad, when he couldn't have them, he made sure to be all about them BUT ALWAYS BEING EXTRA CAUTIOUS OF NOT LETTING IT SHOW THAT HE CARES,.... he knows he can't be with someone, but he wanted do, perhaps, if he didn't have to live a life like he did, he would've chosen a different path, ... The hidden note here is exploding now scary the uncertainty of leaving behind the life he has always known of behind..... It's not that he never loved Kangjin, 'My pathetic useless heart' was not just a line said on a whim, it's that he somewhere knew better ... That he could only love people people from afar, no matter how much he aches for loves himself.... It's a very beautifully written story.... Won't really reread because of all the angst, but again, to all those who had a very negative image of Chisoo, if you can, please try to read the story once again, but this time, thinking of Chisoo as the protagonist.... You might not like him or love him, but you sure as hell will understand him
