The prince suddenly aborted the baby because someone (I forget who) told him that omegas usually die during childbirth if they are knotted by another alpha than their imprinted partner which Marstiel knotted him & knocked him up, he assumed to trap him into marrying him for sure and having his child and he had already taken control of all the royal military including Duke Amandaris’ soldiers as well, and he’d been taking over Wistad while he was off doing business and the prince trusted him but as we found out, Marstiel had reasons to want revenge against the prince and especially Duke Armandis. So the prince thought he purposely knotted and knocked him up so the prince would die giving birth to their heir, and Marstiel would take over in the meantime since the prince wouldn’t be around anymore and their child would be too young ofc. So he realized he was likely using him the whole time and also getting revenge on him for ruining his life and the death of his parents, and the torture he went thru for marking the crown prince as kids (the prince asked him to, hoping it would undo duke amandaris’ print but instead they both suffered separately) anyways, we never found out the real feelings behind the ML in the first life but it’s safe to assume he did want his revenge on the prince but he was conflicted and had some feelings for him as well. But the second timeline seemed so forced and rushed, it was rather disappointing and we didn’t get to see their married life at all, any proper smut once they fell madly in love and knotted the right way, and the prince’s pregnancy
So.. i really like the palace of bardo. Royal wedding story was good too but i think the author really push that "reincranation/go back time" plot. What the hell it sudden turn to the past when the prince was dying. It doesnt make sense man.. It would make sense if this story have supernatural genre. And why the prince so sudden abort the baby and kill himself when he really loves him.. cant process that. Girl i reread palace of bardo so many time cause IT WAS PEAK. I think the author didnt think through about this story.. But hopefully the next manhwa would be good. I really like the art, how the character lips change and the eyes.
