Yeah i read that and also the chapter where it was mentioned that the General was the 'Former Slave' of the King.
But, i still have doubts about that rule being followed as per 1st Prince Adam's announced that Lucian will be his Slave and can't leave his side anymore.
Same as Jadeite's, the King didn't even rejected their decisions so my thoughts is maybe the King and the Queen still have their Slave with them and just married for the Royal title.
I think the head of slaves (or what they were called) could get title and become aristocrats after doing their time and thats the main motivation for most of them? Like they dont really love the royals but use them as stepping stones.. I mean they sleep amongst themselves too. Its just one big orgy to sleep to the top but ofc there are probably ones like Lucien and Shu who actually fall romantically..
But yeah who knows what actually happens behind closed doors..
