LMAO how is it homophobic if for once we just want a genuine friendship between two girls in this kind of genre?!

.It’s homophobic because there’s not a lot of good plots w wlw and rejoicing that it’s not is weird asf. The excuse that you just want a genuine female friendship when the author could have done both instead of making seraphina like that is laughable. Why can’t the mc have a good friend both romantic and platonic? prejudice doesn’t have to be overt and can be subconscious and a way it showed up here you and those other losers rejoicing. There’s also other books i’ve read that literally play out like this so this is not entirely true

”For once” there are plenty of female friendships in shoujo and romance manga and manhwa so acting like this is some rare occurrence and literally rejoicing that two characters aren’t gay is weird as hell. You can be happy about the focus on the female friendship without putting down yuri.

i'm neither here nor there on caring if it's shoujo ai or not but I will say; since it's not tagged as such I was like ??????? when I started reading. had to come to this toxic comment section to see. so i can understand the people who would, i guess, rejoice that it's not when they came to a story that isn't tagged as shoujo ai?? like i can see it not being homophobic to go into what you expect to be a hetero story, get baffled by shoujo ai vibes, and then find out it's indeed hetero. they signed up for the straight and be expecting the straight. [even though my 3 chapters in ass is sitting here /the historicans will call them best friends/] so yeah. i mean i'd be feeling a little deflated if i went into a bl or gl looking forward to that and then it ended up being hetero. /let's cut these poor souls a tiny bit of slack. like 10%./

I can assure you a 100% ppl can freely express they like a Yuri route. And that the ppl who are rooting for the male lead are just as capable to be respectful towards the yuri fans. I've seen a comment section before filled with yuri lovers and the other people having a friendly chatter without putting eachother down. Misunderstandings can happen especially with a site like this where tagging is not always done great, yuri gets untagged as shoujo ai or yuri at some times. So it's understandable if some people were not sure and suprised. If they were suprised by the way the story projects them together they could've just said so, but rejoicing honestly sounds offensive and weird. In the end they got the straight story they wanted right? I don't wanna sound mean but I can't help but feel it sounds greedy. Whole society is filled and run by heteronormativity, there are plenty and I mean plenty of straight rofan stories. Im not saying they can't be glad. But I wish people would think more about us people who have less representation and choose their words more carefully when all we want is to express our love for a pairing it doesn't even have to be canon. Most people are homophobic by the little things they probably dont even notice but those do matter, because enabling them makes it easier for the bigger things and harder to see where to draw the line until it's too late.

I hope I dont come off as mean, but I just thought It's important that people notice their ways. Because in the end it's not them who decides whats homophobic or not, since they aren't the target. (Ofc that doesn't mean some gay ppl can't unreasonable either)
But by realising it earlier on they can prevent going worse down the line.

i mean i did say to cut them "10% slack". i think it's pretty reasonable to have that much understanding with people, lol. and maybe i just missed it but i didn't see a whole lot of people tearing others down in the comment section. yeah; there were a lot of people rejoicing at it being hetero. i get that that may have rubbed you the wrong way. it's not mean but it is evident you were very bothered. i guess i can't feel strongly offended because, again, i went into it expecting the hetero so i kind of expect the comments to be what they are. or rather; i'm used to seeing comment sections with people screaming and rejoicing for GL routes and ships more so than those with people being relieved it's not GL. this has been a 1/10 experience for me. as for people's homophobia; humans are fucking stupid. it's shit when you meet an idiot but this planet is full of them. you can only try not to be rage baited by their bs, at least online. i'm too exhausted with this universe to police their bits of unintended homophobia so i guess keep at it for the rest of us but try not to let it eat you??

I mean it's to be expected to be straight. But if I'd give an example its like the yuri ppl have a bucket of yuri and the straight ppl have a truck of their part. And the situation is that the straight ppl are rejoicing that it isn't yuri. Its hard to explain but, the situation just feels icky to me.
And I know you mean well with your last message but idk homophobia/queerphobia isn't only just tied down by remarks, it's rooted into society of people who won't accept it often from one person to the other. It could lead to harassment, assault and isolation. It might seem 'too much' for just online but tbh if we do not stop at the beginning then where? It is that online there is more homophobia because they have easier access to it and hide it irl. I could explain and talk more about it but im sure nobody's really interested that much on this site
