My incoherent thoughts on this gem

Geh February 7, 2026 11:18 pm

I spend the whole night rereading this and I still can't sleep. So I might as well write my own thoughts on this since it's already morning

First off, I agree with everything the other comment said except the ending being unecessary. I actually feel like it ties up the whole story neatly

If he had no chance of redemption, then death would have just been nothing but unreasonable. Provided, death has been unreasonable and nonchalant the whole time. But the chance of changing and correcting his mistakes give purpose to the whole story. In simple words, I would feel quite upset to read 66 chapters of character development just for him to pass through afterlife immediately. So imo, the last chapters shows that his whole adventure was necessary.

Going with the route of the police daughter actually believing him and maybe even publishing his story would be interesting but it is just far off. So out of all the endings, the open ended and with most options would be the best.

Now as I was writing this weird essay, it made me think of what happens after his new life. Obviously he would change a lot, and this is shown by how he stepped out of the ledge and answered her mother immediately. But how would he change the story?

I don't wanna play morals here but I can't help but judge that there are a lot of people he can save with his knowledge. My top one being the poor bullied kid. The genre could literally switch to regression and correcting past mistakes in second life lol. But the kid, the detective, the handsome guy, and even the juvenile kid who should have just went with MMA all deserve a chance (from top off my head) Of course not that he really have to save them, he can literally just live his own life properly this time and that would still be a decent ending.

Now about that author girl, I actually have more thoughts on that. The real reason why they clicked was because he felt that the author girl actually liked "him." And while death has already explained that handsome guy body and author girl are not connected, it still made me wonder if they're actually originally meant for each other. But seeing how MC never stopped reading author girl's books made me realize that at the very least, this is the closest thing the story has for romance. So I would really love to see it played out because as I see it, all the things she liked about him were all real.

Anyway all these things are too vague for a sequel but some side stories would be nice. This story is one of my favorites that's why I couldn't help but ramble. I was in a similar situation with mc when I first read this. Though I can't say that I've went past all of it. But I am really glad that my mother doesn't need to grieve me either.

So yeah, I haven't had any sleep so I apologize if my words don't make sense. Have a good to anyone who's reading this. I hope this manhwa made you feel things as much as it did for me.
