Beginning is damn tough in the novel too, unfortunately, but I totally understand and I really don't like how it's portraited in the manhwa, we miss a lot of internal monologues from both of them here, I mean, there are also abuses here in the novel, and no justification to that, everything has started from rape, so Zhenya has no excuse, we all know that, he's a damn black flag, but in the novel we can see more how they feel about each other and that gives more to the future characters development, makes more sense of 'why', what is so missing in the manhwa, series looks literally like bunch of rape scenes without any plot, where that time was supposed to be the start of a looong characters development! And this is what I liked in this story, that we have a looong journey of correctly addressed toxicity and relationship development which in their environment makes sense, similar to Passion! It's not an another BL shit with sexualized SA pushed to later have them in love out of nowhere...
In general, this is a damn tough and toxic series, but one of not so many with a good character development, redemption and yearning later, but there is a long way to go, as we are still basically at the beginning of novels, so probably I would recommend readers to just let it marinate till we have more from character development part in manhwa...
Look, I get that, to an extent, but like I said. The gratuitous SA does not have to be as extensive, even if it is so in the novel. The manhua can summarise a lot of these until major plot points occur.
Totally agree, I also hate those detailed and dragged SA in BL series only as an angst and sex scene factor, it's disgusting, especially since such webtoons etc are based on visualisation, and truly, it shouldn't be portraited the way it is in series! Let's be honest, SA in general is overused as a factor in general in series, where there is so many other plot twist possibilities to give angst to the story! But people mostly are blinded by artstyle/hot characters, and they don't care about characters profile or context! Like you said, if SA is necessary for the plot, it should be only a hint and moving to the storytelling, unfortunately in BL for a long time already SA/cheating etc is used as an add-in, not only in 'porn focused' series, what is scary... in majority of series there is always at least SA attempt, to the extent that people treat it as a 'norm' in BL... something definitely went wrong...

This series shows a really bad execution, seriously, at this point I would just drop this shit, because there is seriously no plot portraited in the series, just constant rape, and I'm not surprised people are dissapointed, because even as a novel reader I'm not invested in the series at this point, because it shouldn't be this way at all, art is not everything! Of course it's toxic, but it shouldn't be dragged so much, we should have focus on scenes like one in the snow, these breakpoint ones where emotions are involved to show damn development! And at this point, I'm not sure how they will show next events here... we'll see, but probably would suggest to let it marinate
Not only was the art better before, but there used to be an actual real plot with spies and a mystery weapon. What happen? Why did it all go wrong. Even if the OG novel is full of rape I'm dead sure we can abbreviate here. I don't need a full season to understand taekjoo was held captive and assaulted. Thanks. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
