While I am annoyed that they get so uppity about what he makes. He's done it several times before, at this point it feels like my guy is being socially punished needlessly. It's a bit annoying, can't they just be amazed now and then instead of "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?"
FFS it pisses me off in an otherwise near flawless story.

Scolding him for making good things that benefit themselves just because it's "amazing" or is outside their common sense is so annoying and makes them all look like ungrateful little shits. Like.. getting mad because he made a hammock is a really weird choice... or "how dare you gift my wife a really sharp and cool knife".

Actually, you guys are misunderstanding the whole reason they are freaking out. They wanted magic weapons. Instead he accidentally made spirit weapons. For you to understand what that entails:

Imagine learning about mythical spirit weapons and thinking that you wouldn't ever acquire one only to meet a guy who can crank them out with ease even when he tries not to. Weapons that people would kill you over. Talents that countries would go to war over. He's also supposed to keep a low profile. Does making spirit weapons casually sound like keeping a low profile to you?! They aren't ungrateful. They are complaining because he's constantly breaking common sense by doing absurd things. Understand now?

At some point. They should not be getting all uppity about it because he's done it several times before. Please do not "uhm actually"
Yes it would be surprising at first or even the first couple of times. But he does this sort of thing all the time.

Maybe you aren't aware of the fact that HE'S TRYING TO STAY HIDDEN!! The point is that every time he makes something, there's a chance that he might make something that exposes him. All it would take is one spirit item that can't be hidden to expose him. Like an item that creates an an intense bright light or a sword that creates a pillar of flames. All it takes is 1 incident to draw attention to his house potentially expose him. COUNTRIES WOULD GO TO WAR OVER THIS MAN! And that's not even taking into account the fact that his sister would track him down. Something that he wants to avoid at all cost.

Avoiding attention IS THE WHOLE POINT!! Because they are helping him avoid attention, when they say "What have you done" they are perfectly justified in doing so.

I think my issue is just stemming from tiredness of the "gotta hide" trope in this genre. I don't mind being on the down low, but at the same time it's more or less fatigue from the same reactions. I understand, I do, however, it doesn't change the fact it gets a bit annoying at some point. It's literally my only issue, but it's not like that single fact ruins the whole thing, just a pet peeve really.

Look I get it. It's a common trope so I can see someone getting tired of it. Here what I recommend.

Option 1: just ignore it. This is what I do. Works perfectly well for me.

Option 2: find worse things that upset you more so that you can go back and say, "this trope is tolerable compared to that other thing.

Option 3: find a constructive outlet to vent your frustration before you continue reading.

Option 4: skip those sections in the story.

    You're welcome, btw.
