rant

Finally read this manhwa and while I love the characters, these last chapters have been... confusing. Long rant ahead.

This last arc was a bit questionable. The author was building a lot of momentum for Woowon to finally take action and take his life into his own hands by deciding to go back to Seoan. I think Seoan going after him and even paying for his stay at grandma's hurts this arc a LOT. Seoan being alone after receiving Woowon's love for so long could've worked to make him realize how harsh he was acting sometimes and how he was going down the same micro managing path his father raised him. But even more frustrating, just as Woowon was about to return and stand proud as Seon's boyfriend, the author introduced the unnecessary conflict of losing the ring and now Seoan goes to rescue him again and Woowon is reduced to the same unconfident crying mess he's been for the last 30 chapters. Character development = zero. I do think it's nice how they both found in each other a person they can rely on and who loves them unconditionally, but at the same time their relationship feels extremely codependent which to me is a little ehhh... They don't really help each other grow and become a better person—both (and especially Woowon) only function when the other person is close by. I hope they have a nice ending without any more drama, get married abroad, Woowon working as a swim instructor, but then I remember we still haven't gone over that whole video drama yet... Sigh.
